What notifications do members get about me?
Members get two types of notifications about you:
- When you join a room, the other members get a notification that a new member joined.
- When you check in, the other members get a notification such as “✅ Sam completed their habit!”.
Only current members of the room get these notifications.
What does HabitRix save with my account?
HabitRix saves room data online with your account, so that every member sees the same room. Your personal habits stay on your phone.
For rooms, HabitRix saves:
- The room name, its invite code, its owner and the date it was made.
- For each member: the display name and the date the member joined.
- For each check-in: the day, and whether the member marked it as done.
You sign in with Google (Android), or with Google or Apple (iPhone). Your account details stay private.
Who can join my room?
Only people with the invite link or the 6-character code can join. The code keeps working as long as the room exists. Send the invite to the people you trust.
To start fresh with a new group of people, the owner can delete the room and create a new one. The new room gets a new code. For the steps, see Leave or delete a room.
Who can check in for me?
Only you. In a room, each member checks in only for themselves, and only for today. This rule keeps every check-in honest and the leaderboard fair. Tap again to undo your check-in for today.
Good to know
- Choose a display name for each room. You type a display name each time you create or join a room. On iPhone, the name field can start with the name that the app already knows. Change it before you join if you like.
- Leave and come back. When you leave a room, the other members stop seeing you in it. HabitRix keeps your past check-ins, and they come back when you join again with the same code.
- Delete your account any time. HabitRix then removes you and your check-ins from every room. Your personal habits stay on your phone.
- Keep the room focused. Members see check-ins, and you talk in the chat app that you already use.
